Our Community Pillars
Our strategy is built on an inclusive approach where men, women, and youth each contribute their unique knowledge, responsibilities, and leadership. Together they preserve our traditions, strengthen our communities, and shape a sustainable future for the Saamaka people.
Women
The Backbone of the Community
Women are the backbone of our communities. They preserve families, pass on traditional knowledge, guide future leaders, and serve as trusted advisors whose wisdom strengthens community decision-making.

Men
Guardians of Community
Men play a vital role in providing leadership, protecting the community, and supporting the wellbeing of their families. They help safeguard our lands, traditions, and future generations while carrying important social, cultural, and economic responsibilities.
Youth
Leaders of Tomorrow
Youth are the future leaders of our communities. By learning from elders while embracing new knowledge and ideas, they ensure that our traditions remain strong and continue to grow for future generations.
